Reflection: Where Are You Misaligned?
Reflection: Where Are You Misaligned?
Examine your own work for places where alignment might be illusory.
Reflection Questions
Consider a current project or initiative. Answer these questions honestly:
About Assumptions:
- What am I assuming will stay stable?
- What are my colleagues assuming that I'm not?
- What would happen if my key assumptions broke?
About Alignment:
- Where have I assumed alignment without really checking?
- Who might see the situation differently than I do?
- What conversations am I avoiding that might surface misalignment?
About Orientation:
- What am I seeing that others might not be?
- What might others be seeing that I'm missing?
- Where am I attached to my view being right?
Looking Forward:
- What's one assumption I should make visible this week?
- Who should I have an orientation conversation with?
- What alignment do I need to test rather than assume?
